Leavenworth authorities pursued a teen on foot Wednesday after officers responded to a report of suspicious activity, a police spokesman said.
The teen was apprehended, and another person was arrested for alleged drug violations. The incident was reported shortly after 3 p.m. Wednesday in the 1100 block of Jackson Street, according to Maj. Dan Nicodemus, deputy chief of the Leavenworth Police Department.
He said there was a report that two people were hanging around a vacant residence.
"(The suspects) were located in a shed behind the residence," Nicodemus said.
When officers made contact with the suspects, one of the them, a 17-year-old boy, allegedly fled on foot.
Police lost sight of the teen at one point. But authorities spotted him again and chased him to the area of the Stoneleigh Court apartment complex, where he was apprehended, according to Nicodemus.
The other suspect is a 21-year-old man. Nicodemus said police found what they believe to be methamphetamine in the shed.
Both suspects were arrested for allegations of possession of narcotics and paraphernalia. The teen also was arrested for alleged obstruction.
