  • A Leavenworth man reported that he'd been threatened with a handgun during an argument with another man, a police spokesman said.
The suspect acknowledged that he had an argument with the victim but denied using a firearm, according to Maj. Dan Nicodemus, deputy chief of the Leavenworth Police Department.
The incident was reported shortly after 9:30 p.m. Thursday in the 700 block of Pottawatomie Street.
The 56-year-old victim and the 49-year-old suspect were having an argument at the victim's residence when they agreed to "take it outside," according to Maj. Dan Nicodemus, deputy chief of the Leavenworth Police Department.
"The victim reported that the suspect drew a handgun and threatened to shoot him with it," Nicodemus said.
The victim reported that he left the residence immediately and called the police. Authorities spoke with both men.
"No weapon was located," Nicodemus said.
No arrest was made. Nicodemus said the case will be sent to the County Attorney's Office for review for possible charges.
The deputy chief said he didn't know what sparked the argument.
