A man who jumped from the Centennial Bridge Sunday afternoon was a found alive on a bank of the Missouri River, a fire department official said.
A boat crew from the Leavenworth Fire Department located the man, according to fire Capt. Walt Terron.
Firefighters were called for a boat rescue at 3:11 p.m. Sunday. Firefighters put the boat in the water at the city's boat ramp which is located near the Centennial Bridge.
Terron said Leavenworth firefighters also called Leavenworth County Fire District No. 1, which is based in Lansing, to help with the search.
The man was found seated on the west bank of the river about 100 yards south of an inlet used by the Leavenworth Water Department for water intake. The inlet is located south of the bridge.
Firefighters transported the man back to the boat ramp.
Terron said the Leavenworth Police Department took over the situation at that point.
