Lansing volleyball opened up with a win 3-1 (25-21, 25-21, 20-25 and 25-19) over Piper on Tuesday. “We made some typical first game mistakes and it took us a while to work out the kinks,” said head coach Julie Slater. “Overall it was a good night for us. We are playing without our senior team captain Amanda Dalbey, who has been injured, so we have had to adjust. Stevie Sherard had 39 assists on the night. Meghan Tauke led in kills with 15 to go along with five Blocks. Lindsay Davis had nine kills and 10 digs, and freshman Alex Lesniak had eight kills and six digs on the night. Defensively, JoLee Ritchhart had 25 digs, Kylie Farris had 10 digs and Stevie Sherard had nine digs. Morgan Moss had five blocks and Allyssa Lutgen had four blocks. Lansing plays Seaman and Free State tonight at Seaman at 5 p.m.
