The doubles' teams for Leavenworth girls tennis won five of their six matches to start the season on Thursday.
Overall, Leavenworth won seven of the 12 matches on the day.
The doubles team of Meagan Brucker and Sydnie Lundy beat Lawrence (8-7), Gardner (8-6) and Shawnee Mission North (8-0).
"My No. 1 doubles with Brucker and Lundy have been hitting the ball very well lately," said head coach Shad Langfoss. "They have been making good choices with their shot selection and staying consistent."
The No. 2 doubles team of Megan Kelly and Shannon Sullivan lost to Lawrence 8-0, but beat both Gardner and SM North 8-1.
No. 1 singles player Leah Messer lost 8-0 to Lawrence and 8-2 to Gardner, but was able to defeat SM North 8-5.
No. 2 singles player Annika Wulff had similar results, losing to Lawrence and Gardner 8-2, and beating SM North 8-6.
Leavenworth will travel to Olathe North for 3:30 p.m. matches on Sept. 10.
