A rural Linwood man was taken to the hospital after he fell asleep and crashed in ditch, according to a report from the Leavenworth County Sheriff's Office.
The accident was reported at 5:44 a.m. Sunday on Kansas 32 Highway.
The 27-year-old man had been driving west in a 2003 Chevrolet pickup truck when he fell asleep, according to the report.
After the accident, he crawled to the roadway. A passerby stopped and called 911.
The driver was transported to the University of Kansas Hospital, Kansas City, Kan.
The truck is considered a total loss.
