Vera "Evelyn" King, 93, of Leavenworth, died, Thursday, Sept. 19, 2013, surrounded by her family. She was born April 28, 1920, in Leavenworth, Kan., the daughter of William W. and Mary E. (Deweese) Bagwell.
Evelyn is survived by a son, Ronald King; four daughters, Sharon (Bobby) Finch, Pamela (Gene) Beaver, Frankie (John) DeGan and Leigh Ann (Thomas) Dennison; a sister, Rosa Mae Brown; a brother, Chuck Bagwell; She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and five great great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Frank. W. King; a daughter, Karen Grant; two brothers, Clarence and Ernie; four sisters, Delores, Viola, Velma and Edna; and two grandchildren.
Evelyn was very involved in her church, Grace Assembly of Leavenworth. She enjoyed bowling, gardening, and working by her husband Frank's side their whole life together.
Visitation will be from 9 to 10 a.m., Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2013 at the R.L. Leintz Funeral Home. Funeral service will begin at 10 a.m., Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Leavenworth National Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Continua Hospice.
