A MetLife blimp passes by the Planters II building Tuesday morning as it flies over the Leavenworth area. The blimp is one of three airships operated by MetLife, according to information posted on the company's website.
The blimp was in the Kansas City area for coverage of this past Sunday's Kansas City Chiefs game. The Chiefs defeated the New York Giants 31-7 Sunday at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Mo. The blimp will return to the area for an Oct. 13 Kansas City Chiefs game, according to company spokesman John Calagna.
The blimp carries camera equipment that weighs about 250 pounds. A camera zoom lens provides up to 80 times magnification, according to information on the company's website.
