Lansing girls cross country finished fifth out of 13 teams at the Gary Gribble/Saucony Invitational in Baldwin City on Saturday. Jordan Maestas’ third place finish was the highest for the girls. The senior ended up with a time of 15:31. “She ran a great race from start to finish and placing herself in great position to be a high medalist at the state championships,” said head coach Brian Malm. The boys team was 10th on the day, and were led by sophomore Matt Hanks’ 40th place finish with a time of 18:00.
