Leavenworth tennis went 7-1 in a home triangular against Bonner Springs and Immaculata on Wednesday. “It was a great day to enjoy watching everybody play well and get some wins,” said head coach Shad Langfoss. “We have our regionals on Saturday at Mill Valley, so I hope if many play like they did today, we will be taking some players onto state in Ark City.” No. 1 doubles team of Sydnie Lundy and Meagan Brucker beat Bonner Springs and Immaculata’s No. 1 doubles team of Abby Meirose and Olivia Theus. The No. 2 doubles team of Leah Messer and Shannon Sullivan beat Bonner Springs and Immaculata had to forfeit in the category. No. 1 singles player Megan Kelly beat Immaculata’s Sydney Simek, and No. 2 singles player Annika Wolff beat Immaculata’s Liz Lee. Madison Silvers also got a win over Bonner Springs as a No. 1 singles player. Immaculata went 2-4 on the day. Simek and Lee each got a win over Bonner Springs. No. 1 doubles team of Abby Meirose and Olivia Theus went 0-2 on the day. “The Lady Raiders know they have to bring their best game on Friday in order to get into the qualifying rounds on Saturday,” said head coach Manuel Hernandez. “We are all looking forward to some great tennis and a trip to Pratt, Kan. for the State Tournament the following weekend.”
