Darlene May (Boyd) Emge, 83, of Joplin, MO, formally of Leavenworth, Kans., passed away on October 1st in Austin, TX.
Darlene May (Boyd) Emge, 83, of Joplin, MO, formally of Leavenworth, Kans., passed away on October 1st in Austin, TX. She recently moved to Austin to be closer to her children, Robert Emge and Karen Mahoney, her son-in-law, Matthew Mahoney and her beloved grandson, Ellis Mahoney, all who survive her.
Darlene was born July 17, 1930 in West Hope, ND and lived in many different places in her life, including Kansas City, MO, El Paso, TX, and New Orleans, LA, finally settling in Leavenworth, KS. She had many different occupations, but was most proud of her days as a homemaker and a school bus driver for special needs children. She moved to Joplin, MO in 1981 where she enjoyed going to the Joplin Little Theater and her work with the elderly.
Darlene is also survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Frank and Judy Borden, her nieces, Debbie Clark and Mary Mullen and her great nieces Kelsey, Karsyn, Jordan, Alyssa, and great nephew, Nicholas. She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Robert and Armintha Boyd and her brother, Richard Boyd.
Per her wishes, Darlene’s ashes will be scattered over Lake Taneycomo in Forsyth, MO where she spent many happy times with her family. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
