The Leavenworth Pioneers lost 8-1 to Mill Valley in Regional play Monday night. The score was 5-1 at the half and Mill Valley added three goals in the second half. It was 3-0 early and junior goalkeeper Alex Samouce came in for senior Dylan Levine. Senior Brady Springe scored the lone goal for the Pioneers. Head coach Ken Lott said they just couldn’t handle the Mill Valley speed. He said they were limited in scoring opportunities because Mill Valley was able to get in front of passes and take them away. With the loss, the 2013 season ends with a 2-14-1 record with the wins coming against Washington and Junction City, and the tie being against Lansing.
