Tenth-grader Samantha Aguilar, right, asks Principal Steve Dike to put on bunny ears Friday at Lansing High School. Dike agreed to wear a pink bunny outfit Friday at school because staff members met a challenge earlier this month.
Staff members met the challenge by wearing pink and raising $325 for the Susan G. Komen Foundation. The money was raised by staff members paying $5 to wear jeans on a Wednesday. October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Dike said he made another agreement to wear the bunny costume during this week's varsity football game if staff wore pink shirts Friday and raised $1,000. Dike said Monday that $1,010 has been raised.
