A man with Leavenworth connections has been identified as the person whose body was recovered along the Missouri River in September, according to the Platte County, Mo., Sheriff's Office.
The body of Christopher M. Rielly, 35, was recovered Sept. 12 near Waldron, Mo. A fisherman spotted the body along the shoreline of the river.
The Platte County Sheriff's Office had sought the public's help with identifying the body.
Authorities announced Thursday that Rielly's identity had been confirmed using records of fingerprints.
Sgt. Jerin Almond, public information officer for the Platte County Sheriff's Office, said Rielly apparently was transient but frequently visited the Leavenworth area, and this is the last place he had been seen on a regular basis.
No cause of death has been determined, but Almond said there no were no signs of foul play.
With the identification of Rielly, authorities in Platte County are no longer actively investigating the case, Almond said.
