1. The University of Saint Mary Department of Fine Arts Department will have its annual Founders' Day Concert at 7 p.m. Sunday. The free concert will be held in the Annunciation Chapel at the USM campus.
2. The annual concert commemorates the 1858 landing of the Sisters of Charity in Leavenworth. The Sisters of Charity of Leavenworth founded the University of Saint Mary. William Krusemark, Saint Mary's music program director and chairman of the Fine Arts Department, said music was important to the Sisters of Charity who arrived Nov. 11, 1858. They brought a harp with them to Leavenworth.
3. Sunday's concert will feature the USM Concert Chorale performing selections by John Rutter, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Ludwig van Beethoven. The concert also will feature university's String Ensemble as well as soloist performances. Krusemark said the concert should last about 45 minutes.
