  • A Lansing woman was sentenced to 4.5 years in prison for possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, according to a prosecution official.
Loni Diaz, 31, was sentenced Friday in Leavenworth County District Court.
She was stopped Sept. 12 in Lansing by members of the Leavenworth County Sheriff's Office because it was believed an arrest warrant had been issued for her in Oklahoma. After she was placed in custody, her vehicle was searched, deputies found numerous plastic baggies, which are commonly used for the distribution of drugs, digital scales and more than 7 grams of methamphetamine, according to County Attorney Todd Thompson.
Diaz pleaded no contest to the drug possession charge Nov. 5.
A defense motion seeking probation was denied Friday, according to Thompson.
