A Leavenworth woman was arrested after she allegedly assaulted her daughter with a knife during an altercation Saturday at their residence, a police spokesman said.
The daughter also was arrested for allegedly punching her mother in the nose, breaking it, according to Maj. Dan Nicodemus, deputy chief of the Leavenworth Police Department.
The incident was reported at 2:43 p.m. Saturday at a residence in the 700 block of Cheyenne Street.
The 47-year-old mother and her 28-year-old daughter apparently had a disagreement. The daughter allegedly punched her mother in the nose. The mother allegedly grabbed a knife and began swinging it at her daughter, according to Nicodemus.
The mother was treated at a hospital before she was taken to jail. She was arrested for allegations of aggravated assault, domestic battery and criminal damage to property.
The daughter was arrested for alleged aggravated battery.
