  • Leavenworth County Sheriff's Office deputies are investigating an alleged armed robbery reported Friday afternoon in the 23000 block of 147th Street.
    A 20-year-old Lansing man allegedly displayed a 9 millimeter handgun and robbed a 19-year-old Leavenworth man, the Sheriff's Office reported in a news release.
    The suspect fled the scene in a black Chevrolet car, heading towards Lansing on 147th Street, before deputies arrived. Dispatchers broadcasted an attempt to locate the vehicle to all Leavenworth County agencies and those in the surrounding area.
    Deputies patrolled the area, but could not locate the vehicle or the suspect, according to the news release.
    The suspect allegedly took cash from the Leavenworth man, deputies reported. The suspect has been identified, and the investigation is ongoing, according to the release.
