Kenneth W. Goetting Jr., 63, of Leavenworth died, Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2014, at St. Luke's Heart Institute.
Kenneth W. Goetting Jr., 63, of Leavenworth died, Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2014, at St. Luke's Heart Institute. He was born July 1, 1950, in Topeka, Kan., the son of Kenneth W. and Jean Marie (Bradley) Goetting Sr.
On Aug. 18, 1979, Kenneth married the love of his life, Nancy Plumberg, in Leavenworth, Kan. She survives at the home. He is also survived by his mother of Tecumseh, Kan.; two sons, Joshua B. (Renee) Goetting and Justin W. (Alicia) Goetting; and a sister, Linda (Ken) Blaski.
He is preceded in death by his father; a son, Jeremy Goetting; and two sisters, Deborah Kearney and Peggy Harvey.
Kenneth was a cement mason at Leavcon for many years and he retired from the VA in November of 2007. He was a Veteran of the United States Navy.
He coached various sports including little league, football and wrestling. Kenneth was a proud Jayhawks, Royals and Chiefs Fan. His proudest accomplishments were his two sons.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 16, 2014, at the R.L. Leintz Funeral Home. A funeral service will begin at 10 a.m. Friday, at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Easton Cemetery.
