  • On the wings of God's love came a precious Baby Boy, Eldon Ray May, on Sept. 16, 1933, in Plattsburg, Mo. to Sherman Edward May Jr. and Verna Lee (Stone) May.
In 1953, Eldon married Doris May, to this union one child was born, Michael May.
On Jan. 12, 2014, the same wings came back and received him at the age of 80, at Golden Living Nursing Facility in Lansing, Kan.
Eldon was a Master Sergeant in the United States Army as a chef. He worked at Sammy's Barbeque Restaurant in Kansas City, Mo. Until his illness, Eldon also worked at Black Angus in Kansas City.
Eldon is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Carrie May; a son, Michael May; step-mother, Sally May; a brother, Roy (Claudia) May and step son, Edward.
He leaves to mourn, Doris May and children; a brother, Clifford (Christine) May; a sister, Margaret May and Mr. Lawrence; one grandson, Michael May Jr.; a granddaughter, Christine Hayes; five great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will be from 11 to 12 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 18, 2014, at Apostolic Deliverance Tabernacle (116 East Kay St. Lansing, KS. 66043). Celebration of Life will begin at noon Saturday, Prophetess Joyce L. Berry-Gayden, Pastor will be officiating. Burial will be at Leavenworth National Cemetery at a later date. Arrangements made with R.L. Leintz Funeral Home.
