  • A man was taken into custody following the execution of a drug search warrant Friday morning in Lansing, a Leavenworth County Sheriff's Office spokesman said.
Sheriff's deputies served the search warrant around 9 a.m. Friday at an apartment in the 200 block of West Kay Street.
During the search, officers seized suspected methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia, according to Undersheriff Jim Sherley.
A 46-year-old man was arrested for possession of methamphetamine, felony possession of drug paraphernalia and using a telecommunications device to conduct drug sales. The man also was arrested for an unrelated Leavenworth County District Court warrant for failure to appear.
The case has been submitted to the Leavenworth County Attorney's Office for prosecution. Sherley said the suspect could face charges for allegedly selling drugs within 1,000 feet of Lansing Elementary School.
