  • A Leavenworth pet store was robbed at gunpoint Thursday afternoon, a police spokesman said.
    The robber got away, but police are investigating. No injuries were reported.
    The robbery was reported around 1:30 p.m. at Fish Shack and Critters, 121 N. Broadway.
    Lt. Kevin Crim of the Leavenworth Police Department reported that the robber entered the business with a handgun and demanded cash.
    The robber left the store with about $50.
    "He was gone by the time our officers got there," Crim said.
    Crim said police searched the area but weren't able to locate the suspect.
    The robber was described as a white man in his 20s.
