The University of Saint Mary track and field teams combined to break eight school records at this past weekend's Emporia State Spring Open.
The meet included a number of Division I and Division II schools.
On the women’s side, five school records were set. Freshman Remy Crouch started the meet off by setting the 400-meter school record and placing 10th.
Senior Karoline Banasik set the school record in the 100-meter hurdles. Freshman Samantha Wynter tied her own school record in the 3000-meter steeplechase.
The Lady Spires also set the women’s 4x400-meter school record. Freshman Bobbie Jo Kissinger set the  discus school record as well.
Three school records were set on the men's side. Sophomore Cory Waites set records in the high jump and long jump.
The other school record was set by senior Udi Ukopono in the 100-meter race. It's Ukopono's first year competing in track and field.
This weekend, USM will compete at Baker University.
