  • Leavenworth lacrosse opens season 2-0

  • The Leavenworth County Lacrosse Club Bulldogs opened the 2014 season with a pair of wins March 29-30 at Park Hill High School in Kansas City.
    The Bulldogs defeated the Northland Lacrosse Club 9-8 on March 29 and beat Bishop Kelley High School from Tulsa, Okla., 9-6 on March 30.
    The Bulldogs were down 8-6 against Northland with eight minutes left, but came back for the win.
    Leavenworth's Dylan Levine assisted Lansing's Austin Rainville for the winning goal with 31 second remaining.
    Rainville led the way with six goals. Lansing's Tyler Yeah and Nick Redwine, and Levine each scored once.
    Justin Fonyi and Connor Barelli each had five ground balls to lead the team.
    Rainville had four goals and four ground balls in the win against Bishop Kelly.
    Levine led the team with six ground balls and scored two goals.
    Jon Bochtler, Redwine and Barelli each scored a goal.
