Alonzo Ray McCaully Jr., 62, of Lansing, died, Tuesday, April 22, 2014, at his home. He was born April 3, 1952, in Leavenworth Kan., the son of Alonzo R. and Alberta L. (Davis) McCaully.
Alonzo enlisted in the United States Army on April 25, 1969. He served in Vietnam from February 1971 to January 1972. After discharge he worked at the V.A. Medical Center in Leavenworth and retired in April of 2007, with 35 years of service.
On April 14, 1972, Alonzo married Donna Monshower in Atchison, Kan. She survives at the home. He is also survived by two children, Richard McCaully and Christie McCaully; five grandchildren, Zachary Howard, Shyann McCaully, Brycen Jones, Kurrin McCaully and Trevon McCaully; two step-grandchildren, Brittany Smith and Kevin Ware; and a brother, Raymond McCaully Sr.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a great-grandson, Lonnie Ray McCaully
Alonzo enjoyed fishing, softball and watching football.
Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday, April 27, 2014, at the R.L. Leintz Funeral Home. A funeral service will begin at 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Leavenworth National Cemetery.
