  • Drug investigations result in arrests

  • During the month of April, detectives from the Leavenworth County Sheriff’s Office narcotics unit have facilitated four felony drug warrant arrests stemming from previous investigations, according to a news release form the Sheriff's Office.
    Two of the arrests occurred in Leavenworth County.
    A third arrest required a cooperative effort between the Platte County, Mo., and Buchanan County, Mo., sheriff’s offices.
    Charges in these arrests included possession of opiates or narcotic drugs, possession of methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine with intent to sell and possession of felony drug paraphernalia, according to the release.
    While arresting a 37-year-old man, Leavenworth County detectives discovered a large amount of of suspected narcotics packaged for sale. Due to new charges relating to this incident, detectives seized a vehicle that is believed to have been utilized in drug sales.
    The fourth arrest occurred in the early morning hours of Friday as Leavenworth County detectives worked in cooperation with the U.S. Marshals Service to locate the fourth arrestee and take the 25-year-old Leavenworth woman into custody at an address in central Kansas City, Kan.
    Officers of the Kansas City, Kan., Police Department facilitated the arrest and booking the woman on the Leavenworth County felony drug warrant for distribution of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana, aggravated endangering of a child and possession of stolen property, according to the release.
