  • Two Overland Park teens were taken to the hospital after their vehicle overturned multiple times Saturday night near Lansing, the Leavenworth County Sheriff's Office reported.
    The crash was reported at 8:45 p.m. Saturday east of Lansing on Wolcott Road, which is Kansas 5 Highway.
    A 16-year-old boy was driving north in a 1999 Honda Accord. He overcorrected the steering of the vehicle.
    The car crashed into an embankment on the side of the road. The car rolled over multiple times, coming to rest on its roof, according to a Sheriff's Office report.
    The driver and his passenger, also a 16-year-old boy, were able to get out of the vehicle. They were transported by Leavenworth County EMS to the University of Kansas Hospital in Kansas City, Kansas.
    The driver was cited for speeding and not wearing a seat belt, according to the report.
