  • Authorities are looking for a Leavenworth woman who allegedly ran over her roommate following an argument Tuesday night, a police spokesman said.
The incident was reported at 8:20 p.m. in the 600 block of North Broadway.
When police arrived, they spoke with the victim, a 22-year-old woman. She told police she had been riding in a sport utility vehicle with her roommate, a 28-year-old woman, said Maj. Dan Nicodemus, Leavenworth Police Department deputy chief.
The two women reportedly had an argument. The SUV was stopped in the 600 block of North Broadway.
"The victim got out of the vehicle," Nicodemus said.
As she was walking away, her roommate allegedly struck her with the vehicle, running her over, Nicodemus said.
The victim was transported by ambulance to the University of Kansas Hospital in Kansas City, Kan. She had internal injuries and possible broken bones.
The SUV was not at the scene when officers arrived. Police later located the vehicle parked in the 1100 block of Randolph Street. The suspect was not located.
"We're looking for her," Nicodemus said.
Nicodemus said he doesn't know what the roommates were arguing about.
