To the editor:
Yes, the roads are filling up with bicycles. Bicyclists have an obligation to follow the rules of the road just as motorists do.
So motorists, if you come upon a bicyclist, remember to allow three feet of distance between your vehicle's outside rearview mirror and the bicyclist. It is the law of Kansas.
Bicyclists riding more than two abreast is not allowed, nor riding down the middle of the road when there is traffic. Let us "share the road."
Come on, parents, you should not allow your children to ride their bicycles without helmets, ride against traffic, wear dark clothing at night, no lights, etc. You are putting young the lives of young people and all motorists at risk. Let us have a safe summer of pleasant riding.
Let us "share the road."
