  • A Leavenworth man was taken to the hospital Wednesday after he crashed into a parked car, a police spokesman said.
The crash was reported at 5:10 p.m. at 15th and Cherokee streets.
The 23-year-old man was driving east on Cherokee in a 2013 Kia Soul. The Kia struck a 2007 Ford Escape that was parked on the side of the road, said Maj. Dan Nicodemus, Leavenworth Police Department deputy chief.
The driver was transported by Leavenworth County EMS to Saint John Hospital.
"He was disoriented, incoherent," Nicodemus said.
The deputy chief said police do not believe the driver was intoxicated.
The man told police a rib injury he suffered before the accident caused him to pass out while driving.
