  • Leavenworth police responded to a report of a stabbing Friday morning, but it took more than half an hour to locate the victim, a police spokesman said.
Once the 40-year-old Leavenworth man was found, he didn't provide officers with much information about what happened, said Maj. Dan Nicodemus, Leavenworth Police Department deputy chief.
Police received a report of a stabbing at 10:58 a.m. in the 2900 Martin Luther King Drive. When police arrived, the victim was not at that location.
Nicodemus said the man was located at 11:35 a.m. walking in the area of the 500 block of Limit Street.
"He had several lacerations to his hands," Nicodemus said.
The deputy chief said the wounds warranted stitches. Leavenworth County EMS responded, but Nicodemus does not know if the victim was transported to the hospital.
Nicodemus said police do not have a description of the suspect.
"We just didn't receive very much information," Nicodemus said.
