To the editor:
Fact: Ethanol production peaked in 2011 at 6 percent of total oil demand. Ethanol production has been less since.
In 2011, ethanol production was 332 million barrels compared to the total oil demand of 5,326 million barrels. Ethanol production dropped to 315 million barrels in 2012 and 317 million barrels last year. It is impossible for biofuel production to ever get above 6 percent of oil demand.
