Nicholas Anthony Mowery, July 6, 1991-August 25, 2014. Beloved son of Kimberly Dahmer, husband Brett, William ‘Bill” Mowery, wife Loreen. Passed on to eternal life on Monday, Aug. 25, 2014.
Nick was a 2009 graduate of Lansing High School. He was currently working as an apprentice electrician in Kansas City with the IBEW Local 124. Nick was an avid outdoorsman, fishing, riding ATV’s with friends and family, or his favorite, camping at the lake. Nick was always on the go, whether to see his mama and family or hanging with his friends, attending concerts in the city, or going to the Friday night races with friends. Nick could light up the room with his beautiful smile. He was always the life of the party. He lived his life, his way and to the fullest, always in the moment. He will be greatly missed by everyone that knew and loved him.
He is survived by his parents; brother, Matthew Mowery and wife, Aimee; sister and brother Elaina and Luke Knott; grandmother, Donna Malquist; grandparents, Steve and Judy Kroll; grandparents, Bill and Jeanie Nash; grandmother, Ginny Mowery; uncles, Richard Zielinski and wife, Nancy, Eric Zielinski, Mike Zielinski and wife Lori, Michael Mowery and wife Mary, Michael Kroll and wife Mary Jane, Kevin Kroll and wife Vanessa, Matthew Kroll and wife Katie, Father Keith Lunsford, Kevin Lunsford and wife Carolyn, David Lunsford and James Lunsford; aunts, Tracy Schmidt and husband Danny, Kim Kroll, Jessica Williams and husband Teague, Cary Meixner, Vicky Boone and husband Tom, Kim Brushwood, Cindy Strunk and husband Jerry; a niece, Adriana; several cousins; his girlfriend, Kirsten Wheeler; and many friends who he loved to, “hang out and do stuff” with.
Nick was preceded in death by his grandparents, Richard and Jean Zielinski, Gary and Barbara Dahmer; and two grandfathers, Orvis Mowery and Court Malquist.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 29, 2014, at the R.L. Leintz Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday, at St. Francis de Sales Church, with Rev. Keith Lunsford as celebrant. Burial will follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Leavenworth Animal Shelter or the Lansing High School Alumni Association.
