Nearly two months ago, we ran a Q5 with 13-year-old Nick Holmes as he prepared to compete in the regional round of the NFL's Punt, Pass and Kick competition.
Well, after putting forth his best foot during halftime of the Kansas City Chiefs home tilt versus Denver on Nov. 13, the Lansing resident recently found out he qualified for the contest’s national championship.
Holmes will be competing against two other sectional winners within his 12-13 year age bracket inside the Baltimore Raven’s indoor training facility on Saturday, January 14.
We’re in the process of lining up an interview with Holmes as well as gaining more details on the trip, but needless to say it’s some pretty cool news that we wanted to get out to everyone.
Holmes, who lives in Lansing but attends school in Pleasant Ridge, is the first person ever from the surrounding Leavenworth, Lansing or Easton area to qualify for the competition’s national championship.
Congrats to Nick and good luck!
