Wrestling wears me out

So I took the following video of Leavenworth wrestler Danial Wilson during the Pioneers home dual against Blue Valley Southwest Wednesday.

This clip is about a minute and a half long and it showcases the majority of the second period. The match would go on for three periods with Wilson getting the pin win late.

As always, the first thought that pops into my head when I watch a match is how tired they must feel. Not just physically, but mentally as well. Add in the high stakes that some of these matches hold and it must be overwhelming.

Ultimately though, the video is just another friendly reminder that wrestlers do a lot more work behind the scenes than I think most realize.

As far as I’m concern, it’s almost four in the afternoon and I want to take a nap. Now think, at this very moment, wrestlers 20 blocks away are busy practicing, training and just sweating everywhere.

I am worthless.
