Yann Martel is the author of the acclaimed “Life of Pi”. His newest book is a story, within a story, within a story.
It begins with the “author” Henry, pondering how his latest book and essay about the Holocaust should be published, and the unusual style he uses to interpret the story.
When publishers and editors refuse to publish his book, Henry gives up his writing and changes his life… till he receives a letter from a taxidermist asking for help with a story he has been writing. As the two work through the mans project, his story line is slowly revealed, as is the identity of the strange taxidermist. The story then quickly grabs and shakes the reader to the very end.
The book is a quick read, Martel style, but will leave the reader feeling the chill for days, months, and years to come. This newly acquired book may be found at the Leavenworth Public Library.
