A Leavenworth man is still missing almost two weeks after his disappearance was reported, a police spokesman said.
Andreas Marts, 25, was reported missing July 16. And there have been no reports of anyone having seen him since that time, according to Maj. Robert Smith, deputy chief of the Leavenworth Police Department.
At the time of the disappearance, it appeared as though Marts may have jumped into the Missouri River.
His vehicle was found in the parking lot of Riverfront Park. Police found shoes believed to belong to Marts at the end of the park’s boat ramp.
Leavenworth firefighters and police officers searched for Marts on the river and from the banks.
“We still have the attempt to locate (bulletin) for him,” Smith said. “Beyond that, there’s really not much we can do.”
The deputy chief said Marts name has been entered with the National Crime Information Center. If a law enforcement officer comes into contact with him, Leavenworth police will be notified that he was located.
Marts has been described as a white man who is 6 feet 2 inches tall. He weighs 169 pounds and has brown hair and brown eyes.
He was reported to have been depressed prior to his disappearance.
