County sets agenda, cancels airport meeting

The Leavenworth County Commission will meet at 9 a.m. Monday for public comment and administrative business. They will consider public bids for a salt conveyor system, an authorization to advertise for work at the county’s Transfer Station, authorization to advertise for on-call contractors and a change in designation for the county trustee on the Kansas Eastern Regional Insurance Trust board. At 9:30 a.m., the commission will consider a preliminary and final plat for the Elston Estates subdivision. At 10 a.m., the commission will have a work session on the Tonganoxie Industrial Park.

The interlocal study session on the proposed regional airport scheduled for Wednesday has been canceled.

The commission will meet at 9 a.m. Thursday for public comment and administrative business. They will hear a report from Deputy County Counselor Roger Marrs on the results of the county’s recent tax sale and a report on the new format for monthly budget tracking. At 9:15 a.m., they will hear quarterly reports from Jamie Miller of the Emergency Medical Services and health departments, Linda Lobb of the Council on Aging and Sean Crittendon of the Juvenile Justice Authority and Juvenile Detention Center.

At 1:30 p.m. Friday, the commission has scheduled the second meeting of its blue-ribbon animal control committee.
