Talent Show Rules - PLEASE READ CAREFULLY
Entry Divisions: Solo, Duet, Small Group (3-9 performers), Large Group(10 or more performers). Age Categories and Divisions: Jr. (12 and under), Teen (13-19) Senior (20 and older).
Average Age: Age category and division is determined by age on the day of competition. Duet and group age categories and divisions are determined by averaging ages of all act members on the day of competition. Drop the decimal point in all averages (thereby
rounding down in all cases).

Time Limit: 3 minutes. A deduction of 5 points will be taken for each 15 seconds over time limit.

Competition Categories: Dance, Vocal, Instrumental and Open. Acts must be dominant to the category. A single (1) handheld microphone will be made available. Use of personal sound equipment of any kind is prohibited.

Adjudication: Judge’s scores are based on Technique (1-25 points), Style and Execution (1-25 points, Showmanship (1-20 points), Costume (1-20 points, Choreography (1-10 points), Degree of Difficulty (1-5 points) and Age Appropriate Performance (1-5 points)
for a maximum possible 100 points. A final adjudicated score will be determined by averaging of all judge’s scores.

The highest scoring act in each age group will be awarded a trophy. The highest scoring act overall may also be awarded a cash prize. Important note: A minimum of ten (10) entries must compete for a cash prize to be awarded. Unclaimed awards and CD’s will
not be mailed.

All entries MUST BE PRE-REGISTERED as they are not accepted at the door. Entry Forms can be found in the Forms gallery.

Entry Fees and Deadlines: All entries must be received by August 4, 2010 with payment in full. Late entries will incur an additional $5 fee (per act) if accepted. Acceptable forms of payment include cash, check or money order. Entries should be completed in full on
an official entry form (copies are acceptable). One entry form per act please.

Entries are accepted as ‘first come, first served’ and may be limited based on available performance time. You are encouraged to send your entries in as early as possible. Note also that entries are not considered received until paid in full.

Music: MUSIC ON CD IS EXPECTED. An easily accessible backup CD for all acts is also required to be in your possession during the show. We cannot be responsible for unreadable CDs. CDs must be appropriately marked prior to turning in at the sound
board. Music should be retrieved from the sound table immediately following the performance. Tutu Cowgirl cannot be responsible for lost, damaged, stolen or unclaimed music. Unclaimed music will not be mailed..

Props: Your are encouraged to please use discretions in the size and quantity of props, keeping in mind that space is limited. Only those props that be carried on by performers or performers assistant and do not require extensive set up are allowed. Mats are allowed but not provided. No fire, smoke, knives, throwing of glitter, etc, will be allowed. Liquid of any kind is absolutely prohibited on stage.

Misc: All acts should be suitable for viewing by the general public. The judges will deduct points on the score sheet for any act considered inappropriate for any reason. Tutu Cowgirl reserves the right to disallow or disqualify any act for any reason, including those that may be considered inappropriate by the general viewing public.

Special performance time requests are very difficult to accommodate and therefore, not accepted.Coaching of performers is strictly prohibited during the performance. All entry fees are non-refundable. The decisions of the judges are final and represent their professional opinions, not necessarily those of the Tutu Cowgirl staff. Tutu Cowgirl cannot be
responsible for lost, stolen or broken items. Lost and found items will not be mailed.
