Notice of Public Hearing The Community Development Advisory Board will hold a series of public hearings to hear and receive public testimony in reference to the 2009-10 Community Development Block Grant entitlement of approximately $350,000. All hearings will be held in the Commission Chambers, first floor, City Hall, 100 N. 5th St., Leavenworth, Kansas. 4:00 p.m., Monday, February 9, 2009: To hear and receive testimony regarding un-met community and lower income household needs and to introduce the proposed budget, policies and processes associated with the Annual Plan for the Community Development Block Grant program.¶4:00 p.m., Monday, March 9, 2009: To hear and receive testimony from Public Service Agencies which request rent and utility assistance from this resource. CDBG funds are limited to 15% ($52,500) for this purpose. 4:00 p.m., Monday, April 13, 2009 to hear and receive testimony from persons for and against the final proposed CDBG Annual Plan. The proposed annual plan includes administration (capped at 20% or, $70,000); public agency support (capped at 15% or $52,500); and $227,500 for various other projects to meet unmet community needs, including housing activities such as home buyer assistance and home owner minor and emergency repairs, and the demolition of blighted structures. Testimony may be presented at any of the hearings for any component of the CDBG program. Upon request, accommodations may be made for persons with disabilities. Written testimony may be submitted for entry into the citizen participation appendix of the plan any time before May 8, 2009 after which the plan will be forwarded to the US Department of Housing and Urban Development.
