More needs to be
done for needy

To the editor:
I have a concern about a problem that I think should be addressed with someone.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m proud that we Americans can help other people around the world but what about our own citizens of the United States that truly need help from their government.
I am talking about the problem of the homeless, the poor, the handicapped and the senior citizens in our own country.
Don’t get me wrong, I am happy that we are able to help other countries when they ask for our help. So why can’t this loving country help their own citizens who are truly in need?
A lot of these citizens are living on or surviving on or below the national poverty level. Now I hear that there is another group of citizens, homeless teenagers. Yes, I heard it on the news. So what is next, homeless children?
I think that we are looking at a crisis that could lead to a national disaster here in this country. If it hasn’t happened already.
I hope that someone who has a little knowledge of the law and some humility, would stand up and say, “Enough is enough,” then try to do something about this problem that is facing a lot of our citizens today.
