A man suffered minor injuries during a wreck involving a car and a motorcycle, a police spokesman said.

The crash was reported at 4:32 p.m. Monday at Fourth and Pawnee streets.

A 16-year-old Nortonville boy was driving a Mitsubishi Lancer south on Fourth Street. He attempted to turn east onto Pawnee Street, but he allegedly failed to yield to a northbound motorcycle, according to Maj. Dan Nicodemus, deputy chief of the Leavenworth Police Department.

The motorcyclist, a 56-year-old Leavenworth man, suffered abrasions in the crash but declined to be transported to the hospital by Leavenworth County EMS. He apparently later sought medical treatment on his own.

He had not been wearing a helmet, according to Nicodemus.

The driver of the car was cited by police for allegedly failing to yield while making a left turn.
