Only minor injuries were reported after two vehicles collided Thursday near Basehor, according to an official with the Leavenworth County Sheriff’s Office.

The crash was reported at 2:10 p.m. at 166th Street and Evans Road.

A 62-year-old woman was driving south on 166th Street in a 2016 Toyota 4Runner. She allegedly failed to stop at a stop sign and struck a westbound 2016 Chevrolet Sonic, according to Undersheriff Jim Sherley.

The woman indicated at the scene that she struck her knee on the dashboard of her vehicle during the crash, causing minor pain. The other driver, a 24-year-old man, reported that he had burns on his wrist from an airbag deployment. Both refused treatment by Leavenworth County EMS personnel.

The woman was cited by deputies for allegedly failing to stop at the stop sign. The other driver was cited for another traffic violation, according to Sherley.
