The Levity Players Group will present “Murder at Fort Leavenworth or The General is Generally Dead” in two showings in Leavenworth.

The murder mystery comedy will be held at 5 p.m. June 17 and at 6 p.m. June 28 at June’s Northland.

The plays are family-friendly and interactive with the audience, according to a press release.

The play tells the fictional story of Gen. Swinbutton, a commander at Fort Leavenworth. He is hosting a formal military banquet honoring his self-described “glorious achievements.”

Before dinner begins, the general is the victim of foul play. A bungling investigator arrives on scene to work the case, and the laughs begin.

A meal will be served by restaurant staff prior to the performances.

A seminar will be held prior to the showings by JC Grason on personal retirement strategies.

The retirement briefing will be conducted by Chris Graham and John Fawson, founders of JC Grason.

There is no admission charge for the seminars, dinners or plays, but reservations are required. For reservations, call 785-594-5014.

Greg Marino, founder of the Levity Players Group, wrote the script for the play. The play is the first show written by Marino for his theater company which began in 2004.

The Levity Players Group performs at about 10 different venues in the Kansas City, Missouri, area.

“This is a funny and witty show,” Marino said in a press release.
