No injuries were reported when a vehicle crashed into a Leavenworth convenience store, a police spokesman said.

The driver of the vehicle was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence.

The incident was reported at 6:07 p.m. Saturday at 7-Eleven, 701 Metropolitan Ave.

A 60-year-old man had parked a 2014 Ford Explorer in front of the store. He apparently thought he put the vehicle in reverse, but it was in drive, according to Maj. Dan Nicodemus, deputy chief of the Leavenworth Police Department.

The vehicle traveled through the front glass doors of the building. The driver then backed the vehicle into the parking lot.

Nicodemus said police are investigating whether impairment from prescription drugs was a contributing factor in the crash.
