The Leavenworth Police Department has released pictures of a man who robbed a convenience store last week.

The Leavenworth Police Department has released pictures of a man who robbed a convenience store last week.

Authorities believe the same man also was responsible for a carjacking at another Leavenworth business.

The images released by police were captured by security cameras at the 7-Eleven store at 701 Metropolitan Ave.

An armed man reportedly robbed the store around 2 a.m. July 25.

It is believed the same man had earlier approached a vehicle in the drive-through lane at Taco Bell, 2925 S. Fourth St., around 11:20 p.m. July 24.

The armed man ordered people out of the vehicle. He then drove away in the car.

The vehicle later was recovered in the area of Second and Limit streets.

People are seeking the public’s help in identifying the man. He is described as a black man who is between 5 feet, 5 inches and 5 feet, 7 inches tall. He was wearing a gray or white sweatshirt that had been turned inside out. He also wore a white T-shirt around his face. He wore dark blue pants with designs on the rear pockets. He also was wearing black and white Nike shoes. He was armed with a handgun.
