Authorities are investigating a drive-by shooting that occurred in a north Leavenworth neighborhood, a police spokesman said.

The incident was reported at 11:45 p.m. Sunday in the 700 block of Pottawatomie Street. No injuries were reported.

Witnesses reported that shots were fired from a white older model Ford Mustang. The car’s headlights were not turned on at the time of the shooting.

“It was reported there were three to four gunshots,” said Maj. Dan Nicodemus, deputy chief of the Leavenworth Police Department.

He said police officers recovered three empty shell casings. They also found two holes in a residence that are believed to be bullet holes.

Nicodemus said there were people in the residence at the time of the shooting.

“No one was struck,” he said.

The driver of the Mustang was described as a black man in his early 20s. He was wearing a yellow shirt or yellow jacket.
