The Leavenworth Police Department has released pictures of a woman who robbed a convenience store last week.

The images were taken from security camera video at Casey’s General Store at 2100 S. Fourth St.

The suspect reportedly walked into the store Aug. 2 and displayed a handgun. She demanded money and grabbed a cash tray from the drawer of a register, according to Maj. Dan Nicodemus, deputy chief of the Leavenworth Police Department.

According to a police report, the robber took $538.

The suspect reportedly left the scene on foot. She was last seen heading north.

The suspect was described as a black woman who is between 5 feet, 5 inches and 5 feet, 6 inches tall. She weighs about 120 pounds.

She wore a gray hooded sweatshirt, and a black bandana covered her face. She also wore black sweatpants, black shoes and black gloves.

Nicodemus said there are some similarities between the appearances of the suspect from the Casey’s General Store robbery and the person who robbed a 7-Eleven store at 701 Metropolitan a week earlier.

The deputy chief said investigators are looking to whether the robberies are related.

However, the suspect from the 7-Eleven robbery was described as a man.
