Two people were injured following a head-on collision in western Leavenworth County, according to a Sheriff’s Office spokesman.

The crash was reported at 10:38 a.m. Thursday on Springdale Road near Yllier Lake.

A 2016 Ford truck belonging to Westar Energy and a 2001 Pontiac Grand Am collided. The truck came to rest on its side.

The Pontiac’s driver, a 16-year-old girl, suffered several injuries in the crash. The driver of the truck had only minor injuries, according to Undersheriff Jim Sherley.

The investigation is ongoing, but evidence at the scene indicated the Pontiac may have been left of center at the point of impact, according to Sherley.
