A man has been sentenced to nearly 1.5 years in prison for a road rage incident that was reported last year on Interstate 70 in Leavenworth County, according to a news release from the county attorney.

William J. Patterson, 58, was sentenced Wednesday in Leavenworth County District Court to 17 months in prison for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

The charge stemmed from a Jan. 24, 2016, incident in which Patterson reportedly pointed a gun at people in another vehicle while driving on the interstate, according to County Attorney Todd Thompson.

Patterson pleaded no contest to the assault charge in July.
